I am searching for any information of my g-g-granfather, Otto Thoresen, immigrated to the US in 1880. I have him listed in the 1865 and 1875 census for Norway and his emmigration from Norway in 1880, but I don't know how to find more information. His wife, Ellen Marie Oleson also came to the US, anywhere from 1881-1883, with at least two children, names used in the US were Charley/Charles (b. abt 1879 and Josephine (b. Apr 1881). Any help would be greatly appreciated and I would love to share information with other relatives!

Searching also for "landre" family from Romsdal. They emigrated in 1883/1886, and they lived in Minneapolis around 1890.

I just discovered that Susan Nagaska, Canada, in 1998 in this guestbook wanted to come in contact with relatives in Norway.(Entry nr 47). Her Grandfather Lars Johnsen and his children Ingse and Ina was her references. The e-mail adress Susan had in 1998 no longer excists.

Hello, I will be visiting Sweden and Oslo, Norway in a couple of weeks with my other Swedish-American cousins. My grandfather was born in Spydeberg and left Norway in 1902 for the USA. I am interested in finding his old homesteads. I have 1865/1900 census of where they lived, but do not know if the addresses are still there. 1865 census states Bokoen as domicile for Thorer Thorersen and family, Martin being my greatgrandfather, 1900 state Hammergaden 12, Krisiania, Hjalmar, being my grandfather. Am looking for anyone with the last name of Hvitfeldtsen, it is very unusual so I don't expect that there may be any left. My father and ancestors were born and raised in Norway.

Traced him to Lanesboro, Minnesota USA where his name was listed as Severin Anderson Opdahl married to Thea Murtiane Kristiandtr Dunnum. Andrew was born June 15, 1860 in Norway.
